TM Real Estate Group began in 1969 in Orihuela (Alicante) as a family business founded by José Luis Serna Almodóvar, specialising in the construction and development of second homes along the Mediterranean coast. Today it is one of Spain's top ten property developers by turnover, with more than 25,000 homes delivered since it began, 26 ongoing projects, more than 1,800 members of staff and a network of over 500 international agents.

Diversification is part of its DNA. Alongside residential development, the group operates hotels and residences in the Riviera Maya through its hotel chain The Fives Hotel & Residences, manages holiday rentals with Mar Holidays, offers real estate brokerage through Beach Homes, and produces and markets fruit and vegetables with Las Moreras. Its first international project was The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences in 2005, followed by The Fives Downtown, The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos and Beachfront by The Fives.
